Biography
Manousos Manousakis was born in Chania in 1997. He studied at the School of Fine Arts at the University of Ioannina, where he also completed his postgraduate degree with a focus on "Art and Public Space." His artistic practice consists of ink drawings on paper, featuring complex figures and dystopian scenarios, which he often digitizes and transforms into short video animations to add movement and depth.His first solo exhibition, titled A Dystopian Iconography, was held at the premises of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in June 2023. He participated in the 10th International Multimedia Exhibition "On Architecture – Philosophy of Architecture" in Belgrade, where he received an award from the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. He also took part in the Biennale of Fine Arts Schools of Greece in Larissa, where he was awarded third prize, and his work was included in the permanent collection of the Larissa Municipal Art Gallery – G.I. Katsigras Museum. His work has been awarded and showcased at both Greek and international animation festivals, as well as broadcast on the Hellenic Parliament’s television channel.
In November 2024, he held his first public space exhibition in Ioannina, in collaboration with the Onassis Foundation’s Stegi (Onassis Cultural Centre). Following this, his work evolved and was selected to be part of Plásmata 3, a public space exhibition organized by Onassis Stegi, which took place at Pedion tou Areos in Athens.
