Biography
George Chatzispyrou (Looper) was born in 1991 into a family of woodcarvers and doctors, growing up in an environment with a deep love for art. He is a visual artist based in Athens, specializing in sculpture, painting, installations, and mixed media techniques. His work explores the connection between emotions and the human experience, aiming for an introspective approach to internal conflicts and their external expression. His artistic journey began in childhood when he was introduced to the art of marble carving on the island of Tinos. Later, he attended iconography classes, while his studies at the Athens School of Fine Arts strengthened his interest in connecting sculpture with contemporary techniques and materials. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with prominent curators and cultural institutions, participating in artist workshops and educational programs. Through his work, he seeks new forms of expression, exploring the relationship between the viewer and art, the way that spaces impact on the emotional perception of an artwork. For George Chatzispyrou, art is a means of storytelling and reflection on the human experience.
