Stavros Kassis

Biography

Stavros Kassis (Esta. Bros) (1985, Athens) lives and works in Athens. He studied Visual Arts at the Polytechnic School of Valencia, in Mexico City and at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He specialized in Public Art with a Master's in Artistic Production at the Polytechnic School of Valencia. Alongside the visual creation, he is a teacher of drawing at the Vakalo School, and spanish translator. He has presented his work in individual and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.

His artistic research centered on the reflection on the role of the image as a tool for shaping personal and social imaginaries revolves around the recycling of images and the management of ready-made material (collage, found footage, objet trouvé) of visual culture attempting to reflect its structures and the critical commentary of the socio-political environment. At the same time, he creates compositions based on the drawing on paper, with pencil and ink.
