Biography
Angelos Skourtis studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, where he also attended Mass Media courses under Professor Pio Baldelli. He continued his studies on a scholarship at the Porta Romana State Institute of Art. He has represented Greece internationally, participating in the Alexandria Biennale (where he was awarded the Sculpture Prize), as well as exhibitions and events in Montreal (Canada), Brussels, Stockholm, the Venice Biennale Open, and elsewhere. In 2012, he was awarded by AICA for his exhibition Engravings on the Soul and the Body, originally presented in 2009 at Yianna's Grammatopoulou fizz gallery. He has held 22 solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.His works are included in the collections of the National Gallery of Greece, the Municipal Gallery of Athens, the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rethymno, the Averoff Gallery, as well as in private collections.
